Most 316 stainless steel wire ropes are oiled during production. This has two purposes: anti-corrosion and reducing internal friction. The oil applied during the manufacturing process can usually provide adequate protection against corrosion damage to the wire rope during transportation and storage. Enough lubrication can be provided for 316 stainless steel wire rope at the initial stage of use, but like other machines, if you want to maximize the use, the lubrication during manufacturing must match the lubrication during use. This kind of lubrication in use is called oiling, and the type of oiling and frequency of use vary according to the type and purpose of the wire rope. Therefore, the following situations should be distinguished.

     1. Working in a corrosive environment, and the main reason for the damage of 316 stainless steel wire rope is rust.
     2. It is in contact with the rope wheel and is severely worn. The main reason for the damage of the 316 stainless steel wire rope is friction.
     3. Working on the rope wheel, but subject to little wear and corrosion, the reason for the damage of the 316 stainless steel wire rope is fatigue.

The main principles to be observed in the operation of 316 stainless steel wire rope:
     1. Whenever possible, 316 stainless steel wire rope should be oiled as soon as it is put into work.
     2. Before the 316 stainless steel wire rope shows signs of rust or dryness, oil should be regularly applied regularly. The frequency depends on the actual situation on site.
     3. If the existing lubricant or oil is covered with foreign matter, dust, sand, stone chips, etc., it should be cleaned up before applying new oil.
     4. If there is corrosive substance on the surface of 316 stainless steel wire rope, remove it before oiling. If the outer wire of the wire rope is severely corroded, and if there is reason to believe that there is serious internal corrosion, 316 stainless steel wire rope should be strictly inspected and replaced if necessary.
